Hello Favo.rs Members & Friends!

In this blog post, we’d like to cover how to get the most out of your Favo.rs experience. And, quite honestly, it’s an easy topic to discuss, because Favo.rs is focused on one thing, and one thing alone: people exchanging valuable help with each other.

On Favo.rs, You Get What You Give

Favo.rs is based on the principal of reciprocality. That is to say that when you help someone, you can reasonably expect that they will be more likely to help you in the future. On Favo.rs, when you make a request, other Favo.rs members can help you by granting your request (requests on Favo.rs include things like asking for a retweet, an introduction, or feedback on a new website or blog post). When other Favo.rs members grant your request, the Favo.rs system tracks that activity. In the future, when someone who has helped you makes a request, you will see that they have helped you. For most Favo.rs members, that makes it more likely that they will choose to help another member now who has helped them in the past.

Therefore…the single thing you can do to get the most out of Favo.rs is to start helping others as often as you can. Once you help them, they’ll be inclined to help you when you make a request in the future.

You Can Broadcast Requests Outside of Favo.rs

One underutilized feature on Favo.rs is the ability to broadcast requests outside of the Favo.rs network. You can easily do this for both your own requests, as well as others’ requests. It’s an easy way to get more visibility for a request that you feel others may be able to help on.

On each Favo.rs request, there is a section titled “Broadcast to Your Network” that includes buttons for Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. By simply clicking one of these buttons, you can send a request to these networks.

You Can See Who You Help The Most, And Who Helps You The Most

One last feature that is extremely helpful is the ability to see how often you exchange help with others. Every Favo.rs member has rank ordered lists on their profiles that show who they have helped the most…and who has helped them the most. It’s an easy way to see at-a-glance how your relationships are growing through Favo.rs.

And that’s really all there is to effectively using Favo.rs. Thanks for reading, and see you on Favo.rs!
